David Rain and Rev. Shawn Gauthier
We are joined for this special service by David Rain, who is arguably the leading authority on all things related to Lotta Hitschmanova. Lotta is likely Canada’s most famous Unitarian, known for her work to establish the Unitarian Service Committee in the wake of World War II; this organisation helped countless people in Europe rebuild their lives in the middle of the 20th century. David will offer a sermon reflecting on who Lotta was and the legacy she left behind.. Next Saturday, at 3:00pm, in VanU’s Sanctuary, a new major choral work based on Lotta’s life and work will be performed.
Weekly services
We gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.
After service, we gather in Hewett Centre for Coffee and Social Hour. Families with children and newcomers are always welcome!
