What would it mean to live in a culture where we truly focused on sharing pains and joys? As social isolation continues to rise, we come together as UUs to imagine and practice that culture. With our commitments to interdependence and to encouraging spiritual growth, we remain a countercultural faith. Join Reilly to explore the unique gifts we have to offer a world in crisis, and to meditate on how you will come home to community this upcoming congregational year.
Reilly Yeo (she/her) is the co-founder of My Climate Plan, a membership organization that helps people and their communities respond to climate change, and a Candidate for Ministry with the Unitarian Universalist Association. Prior to entering seminary at the University of Toronto, she was the Director of Communications at the David Suzuki Foundation. As a long-time community organizer, her work weaves together spiritual resilience and systems change in response to the polycrisis. She lives in Victoria BC with her partner Jamie and their children, Avery and Elyse, on the unceded traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən people.
Weekly services
We gather every Sunday morning at 11am in our Sanctuary at 49th and Oak and online at vanu.ca/live. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.
After service, we gather in Hewett Centre for Coffee and Social Hour. Families with children and newcomers are always welcome!
